The Center for Clergy Health and Wellness
The Center for Clergy Health and Wellness is dedicated to caring for those who devote their lives to serving others. We provide a confidential, non-evaluative haven within the seminary, focused on spiritual direction, prayerful companionship, and peer dialogue. At our core, we offer the quiet gift of listening. Clergy often serve on the front lines of the human experience, walking alongside families through grief, crisis, and transition. They navigate complex expectations from congregations and denominational structures. While ministry is deeply fulfilling, it can also bring periods of sustained tension, criticism, and personal challenge.
Many pastors face seasons where ongoing conflict erodes clarity, confidence, and spiritual vitality. Too often, these burdens are carried in isolation. The Center was established because those who shepherd others also require a safe space for renewal. We serve current students, alumni, and ordained clergy, providing support as they engage with boards of ministry or navigate vocational milestones. Here, there is no stigma—only accompaniment and encouragement in the journey of faith and service. Our mission is grounded in holy presence. We offer individual spiritual direction, confidential peer circles, guided retreats, and practical wellness rhythms to sustain emotional and spiritual strength. We maintain strict confidentiality: we do not evaluate, report on, or retain academic files. We provide a sacred space to pray, reflect, and speak honestly about the joys and pressures of the calling.
Clergy wellness is not a private luxury; it is a necessity for sustainable ministry and the health of the communities they serve. When pastors are supported with grace and the space to reflect, their leadership becomes more grounded, wise, and strong. The Center for Clergy Health and Wellness stands as a constant reminder that no one should carry the weight of ministry alone.
